I have to first apologize for my lack of posting. The Olympics swept me up, and then I was one episode behind, and then last week there were TWO episodes, so suddenly I was THREE episodes behind, and I just decided to not post until the women tell all special.
In my absence we lost Sharleen, Chelsie, Renee and Andie. Sharleen and Andie took themselves out of the competition. The final two are Clare and Nikki, and we’ll see if he picks someone next week.
We check in with Sean and Catherine. She says the fireworks were “short fireworks” on the wedding night. I hope Sean has figured that situation out by now. They seem happy, and it sounds like in about a year we’ll be hearing about little Lowe offspring.
The Women Tell All special is real interesting. I think all of the women have decided they dodged a bullet. They aren’t even made at Clare for hopping in the ocean with him. So that’s been intriguing. I think Andie says it best, “Juan Pablo came looking for a girlfriend, we all came looking for a husband.” To that I say, I think Juan Pablo has a more realistic expectation for this. The idea that you could fall in love, and get engaged, and have it be successful after you leave is CRAZY! However, I don’t think any of the women are thrilled with the way he conducted himself, pretending group dates were one on one dates with Clare, kissing one mom but not the other, not actually taking time to get to know them… etc.
Sharleen is here tonight. I would like to admit that I am completely obsessed with her, and I wish she were going to be the next Bachelorette. If for no other reason than I would love to have another season to swoon over her hair, and wardrobe, and skin, and vocabulary. She says she didn’t realize she was one of Juan Pablo’s favorites, and she left because she knew he wasn’t the one for her. I respect her. And my girlcrush on her still stands.
And now we have Renee out here to talk. I love Renee, and I’m actually kind of glad she got sent home and didn’t get swept up in the chaos. Watching Juan Pablo with Renee ALWAYS restores my faith in him. He has a level of respect for her that most women would die for. I’m glad she came on the show, and I’m glad she’s explored dating as a single mom, and I really hope that her new “situation” is uber-successful. Because she deserves it!
The moment we’ve been waiting for has arrived… Here Comes Andi. She still has a lot of pent up anger over the fantasy suite. I think their biggest issue is the language barrier, and once she was over him she was over him very quickly. Andi is not in a siuation, but she is looking. And apparently we’re not going to talk about the fact that she’s rumored to be the next Bachelorette. I thought for sure they’d announce that tonight. Instead we’ll live in suspense until next week in the After The Final Rose special. I’m still not quite sure that Juan Pablo is a jerk, but I do think all of these women have pretty valid points in their complaints about it.
And the best part of the evening, Juan Pablo gets to walk in to a room full of exgirlfriends, as Chris Harrison puts it! These girls really hooked onto the “Special Ones” title for Renee and Cassandra. He had an immediate connection with them because they could bond over their common interest: their children. I know they all leave things behind but there is a difference between leaving your job, and leaving your child. And if your job is your child, that’s awesome! But you can’t expect everyone to understand that. I agree with Allie, I do wish had not used the word “fair” as much. But the guy was operating on a “Spanish to English Translation Dictionary” as a vocabulary, so I don’t think he always knows what he’s saying. And that’s okay! (See what I did there?)
The anti-homosexual comment just hit the fan. Kelly has a gay parent, news to me and probably all of us. And it becomes a free-for-all. Sharleen jumps in to save him, and I respect Juan Pablo for saying “I’d rather not waste four minutes talking about this. Let’s talk for an hour backstage.” I do think his words were taken out of context, and that’s happened to the best of them.
Before we get the sneak peek at the final episode we ask the obligatory “Team Clare or Team Nikki” question. Seems like there were more on Team Nikki, than Team Clare. Be ready for next week, it looks like there are an awful lot of tears.
